Some daycares and schools ask for clothes with no characters, no slogans and no logos. This shelf is only that: everyday pieces in solid colors, from cardigans, tops and dresses to pants, shorts and hats, with nothing printed on them. We left out anything with a print, a stripe, a brand patch or an embroidered picture on the outside. A few pieces have the maker's label sewn inside the neck or the waistband, where it does not show.
A lot of it is cut for a child who wants to dress alone. Many of the pants and skirts have an elastic waist, so they pull on and off at the bathroom door without a zip or a snap to fight. The cardigans from Aimama and Imps & Elfs button all the way down the front, so they go on like a jacket and nothing has to come over the head. For babies, the Imps & Elfs wrapover top ties at the side.
Everything here is new. Sizes go from newborn to 14 years, and most of the stock sits in baby and toddler sizes up to 6 years. The colors stay quiet: grey, navy, pink, beige, green, white and a few brighter ones like mustard and coral.
