Cienta Size Chart: EU to US and cm
Cienta makes canvas and velvet shoes in Arnedo, in La Rioja, Spain. The company is family owned, in business since 1982, and its soles are vulcanized natural rubber. Its size chart is short. One column of foot lengths in centimeters against EU 21 to 34, and that's all the brand publishes. No US sizes, and no word on width or on how much room to leave. Retailers fill those gaps, and they don't agree with each other, so this page shows you both sides.
Cienta size chart
The foot length column is Cienta's own. Two retailers, one in Australia and one in New York, print an inner sole length instead, and their numbers sit up to 0.4 cm from the brand's. Both columns are here. The US sizes come from Cienta's US and Canadian stockists, since the brand prints none.

A few things to know about that table. Cienta's chart starts at EU 21, so the EU 20 row rests on the retailer inner sole figure alone. At EU 27 the US charts split: BlackBear Boutique, Smock Candy and Cienta's US web store say 9.5, Simply Green Baby says 10. The US band is the standard American shoe category; Cienta itself uses no such labels. Toddler covers about 9 months to 4 years and Little Kid about 4 to 7 years, by the BlackBear and standard US retail definitions. After US 13 the youth scale restarts at 1.

How to measure a foot for Cienta
Cienta's instruction is one line: measure the length of your foot and compare it with the table. Its retailers add the detail.
- Have your child stand barefoot on a sheet of paper. The Italian retailer Primi Passi asks for a tape measure and a standing child.
- Measure from the back of the heel to the tip of the longest toe, in centimeters.
- Do both feet. Keep the longer number.
- Measure in the evening if you can. The Shoe Box NYC notes that foot volume shifts with heat and humidity by up to 5 percent, so a morning reading and an evening reading can differ.
- Pick the size. Cienta says compare the foot length with the chart, nothing more. Daniel and Sofia and The Shoe Box NYC allow up to 1 cm between the longest toe and the inner sole, and give this example: a 13.2 cm foot goes into EU 22, inner sole 13.6 cm. BlackBear and Cienta's US web store say size up about half a size. Between two sizes, The Shoe Box NYC says take the larger.

Fit notes by style
Cienta prints one chart for every style and no style-by-style fit note. What follows is what its retailers and buyers report, matched to the styles in our Cienta collection.
- Velvet mary janes (models 400075 and 500075) and the gold sparkle mary jane. No published fit data for these models. They follow the table above. If you want the inner sole of the exact pair, ask us and we'll measure it.
- Canvas mary jane 56013, the pink metallic. Buyers of this same model, in the Zappos surveys: 85 percent felt it true to size, 92 percent true to width. A few called it a bit narrow. One buyer found the pair large and planned to exchange it for a size smaller.
- Canvas hook-and-loop T-strap (model 50000). No reviews for this model. The closest survey data is the canvas hook-and-loop 5600077, listed as fits true to size, with 82 percent of buyers agreeing and 92 percent true to width.
- Black suede zipper boot (model 1052065). Cienta has no separate boot chart. The Shoe Box NYC prints one inner sole table for canvas, boots and slippers, so the inner sole column above applies.
- Slipper booties, corduroy navy (133049) and pink kitty (133021). Same inner sole table as the boots, per The Shoe Box NYC. No buyer reviews found.
- Width. Buyer surveys across four Cienta models put true to width at 85 to 92 percent. A Japanese Cienta retailer describes the brand as a little narrow, and several survey reviewers say the same. If the foot is wide, send us the measurement before you order.
- Canvas sneakers. The runs small comments cluster on Cienta's canvas slip-ons and laceless sneakers, models 70997 and 70777, where 54 and 50 percent of surveyed buyers felt the fit was true and review after review says a half to a full size small. We don't stock those sneakers, or Cienta sandals, at the moment.
Cienta sizing questions
Does Cienta run small, big or true to size?
It depends on the model, and the brand itself says nothing. Retailers in Italy and France flag Cienta as running small and tell you to buy the next size up. Three US retailers say size up about half a size. In the buyer surveys the picture splits: the 56013 mary jane and the 5600077 hook-and-loop score 85 and 82 percent true to size, while the canvas sneakers 70777 and 70997 score 50 and 54 percent. Our stock is mary janes, T-straps, a boot and slipper booties, the side of the brand with the better scores.
Should I size up in canvas, velvet or the boot?
Cienta doesn't separate them. One chart, every style. The size up comments come from the canvas sneakers we don't carry. For the mary janes and T-straps, measure the foot, then decide how much room you want: up to 1 cm over the foot if you follow Daniel and Sofia and The Shoe Box NYC, or about half a size if you follow BlackBear and Cienta's US web store.
What Cienta size does a 1, 2, 3 or 4 year old wear?
Cienta prints no ages. The bands in the table are the generic US ones: Toddler is about 9 months to 4 years and spans EU 19 to 27, Little Kid is about 4 to 7 years and spans EU 27 to 34, per BlackBear Boutique and a standard US kids sizer. That's a wide net. Measure the foot and let age be the sanity check.
What is EU 24 or EU 26 in US sizes for Cienta?
EU 24 is a US 7.5 and EU 26 a US 9 on every Cienta chart we checked, and one US retailer lists its size 26 as US 9 Toddler. Going the other way: US 5 is EU 21, US 6 is EU 22, US 8 is EU 25, US 10.5 is EU 28, US 11 is EU 29. There is no US 7 on the Cienta charts; EU 23 is a 6.5 and EU 24 a 7.5. The one size the charts split on is EU 27, a 9.5 on three charts and a 10 on one.
My child's foot is 14 cm. Which Cienta size?
On Cienta's chart, 14.0 cm falls under EU 23, listed at 14.1 cm. Daniel and Sofia would land on the same size by their method, since the EU 23 inner sole is 14.3 cm, a touch longer than the foot. Retailers who say size up about half a size would nudge you to EU 24, inner sole 15.0 cm. That's the roomier choice. Between two sizes, The Shoe Box NYC says take the larger.
