Shoo Pom Size Chart: EU to US and cm

Shoo Pom is a French children's shoe brand that works with French podiatrists and builds each shoe line on its own last. In the brand's words, each line has a different shape and fit, so there's a separate size guide for each of them. That's why a single Shoo Pom chart can't exist. EU 27 is 16.0 cm in the Bouba first-steps line, 16.6 in Joggy sneakers and 17.0 in Play boots. The tables below come from the brand's own printable size guides, one per line.

Shoo Pom size chart by line

Every number is foot length in centimeters, copied from the pedimeter PDF linked on each Shoo Pom product page. First the four first-steps lines, then the kids lines. A blank cell means that size isn't on the brand's chart for that line.

Bouba is the first-steps boot and sneaker line. Pika, Tity and Plum are first-steps sandals. The brand marks Bouba as fits small and tells you to choose a size larger. Pika and Tity carry its normal fit icon. Plum is the barefoot line, wider at the front.

Play is the boot, chelsea and high top line. Goa and Kerala Easy are kids sandals. Joggy and Yuzu are kids sneakers. Above EU 34 the brand's charts continue for Joggy to 35, Kerala Easy to 36 and Yuzu to 38.

Two notes. Shoo Pom's server still holds a 2019 Play chart on which every size is 0.5 to 0.7 cm shorter, EU 27 at 16.4 cm against 17.0. The current Play product page links the 2021 chart, so that's the one printed here; a Play pair from an older season may sit on the older numbers, and we'll measure if you ask. Second, our general EU to US article puts EU 27 at 16.8 cm for every brand. Shoo Pom's own charts put it anywhere from 15.7 to 17.0, so go by the line.

EU to US for Shoo Pom

The brand prints no US sizes and no UK sizes. Two North American stockists do. They agree at nine of the fifteen sizes below and split on the other six, so both columns are here. Bambino Fine Shoes in Ontario labels its Shoo Pom pairs with the first column. A second stockist prints a generic ruler that gives the second.

How to measure a foot for Shoo Pom

The brand's method, from its size page and the instructions printed on every pedimeter.

1. Print the pedimeter for your line at 100 percent, no scaling. Put a ruler on the scale bar. It must read 5 cm, or the sheet is wrong.
2. Fold or cut the sheet along the printed line and set the folded edge against a wall.
3. Stand your child barefoot on the sheet, heel to the wall, weight even on both feet, feet parallel.
4. Mark the end of the longest toe with a pencil. Measuring both feet and keeping the longer one is our habit, not the brand's step.
5. Read the size. If the mark falls between two sizes, the brand says choose the larger one. Don't add extra room on top. Shoo Pom gives no growth margin in centimeters, and the Paris boutique Aimée la fée says a growth margin is already built into children's sizes on these charts.

Without a printer, Shoo Pom's own page gives the plain version. Paper, pencil, ruler. Draw a line at the end of the longest toe and another at the heel, measure the distance in centimeters, and read the tables above. Fit notes by style

Shoo Pom marks fit on each product page with an icon or a sentence. This is what the brand says about the kinds of shoes in our Shoo Pom collection.

• First-steps sandals. The lines are Pika, Tity and Plum. Pika carries the normal fit icon and the wide foot icon, the only one of the nine lines on this page marked for wide feet. Tity is normal fit, all foot shapes. Plum is the barefoot line: anatomical shape, wider at the front, flat sole, made in the brand's words to go with a baby learning to walk. The brand calls Pika a first-step leather sandal and Tity a sandale premiers-pas, and sets no walking rule beyond that. Sizes run EU 19 to 25 for Pika and Plum, 19 to 27 for Tity. The French retailer La Botte Chantilly files Pika as standard size, take your usual size.
• Kids sandals. Goa gets a plain sentence from the brand, this model fits small. Kerala Easy is normal fit, all foot shapes.
• Sneakers. Joggy carries the fits small icon. Yuzu carries the normal fit icon, all foot shapes, and its removable leather insole is there, the brand says, so you can check how much the foot grew. Bouba sneakers are first-steps shoes and fit small, choose a size larger.
• Boots. Our Bouba Bi Zip boots are in the Bouba line, and the brand's note on Bouba is exact: this model fits small, we recommend choosing a size larger. Our Metallise Fur Boots are in the Play line, marked normal fit, all foot shapes. La Botte notes a removable leather insole on the Play chelsea.
• Lace-ups and the suede rabbit first walker. We don't know the line for these two yet. Tell us the pair and the foot length and we'll check the shoe and measure its inner sole.
• Width. Aimée la fée says most Shoo Pom shoes suit slim and medium feet. Pika is the one line here marked wide, and Plum is wider at the front. A French retailer blog adds that the laced styles adjust to a wider foot.

Shoo Pom sizing questions

Does Shoo Pom run small?

Some lines do, by the brand's own labels. Bouba: this model fits small, we recommend choosing a size larger. Goa: this model fits small. Joggy carries the fits small icon. Play, Pika, Tity, Kerala Easy and Yuzu are marked normal fit. One rule covers every line: unsure between two sizes, choose the larger. The brand says it gives the child more comfort and the shoes a longer life.

Is Shoo Pom narrow, and what if my child has a wide foot?

Aimée la fée, a Paris boutique that stocks the brand, says most Shoo Pom shoes suit slim and medium feet. Of the nine lines on this page, the brand marks one for wide feet, the Pika sandal, and calls Plum wider at the front. No official page tells you to size up for width. If the foot is wide, send us the length and width and we'll check the pair against it.

What is EU 24 in US for Shoo Pom?

Shoo Pom prints no US sizes. The two stockist charts above agree from EU 23 through 28 and again at 30 to 32, so EU 24 is a US 8 on both. They sit half a size apart at EU 20 to 22, 29 and 33, and a full size apart at EU 34. The centimeter tables are the brand's, the US columns are not, so trust the centimeters.

What size does a first walker, an 18 month old or a 2 year old wear?

Shoo Pom prints no ages. Its first-steps lines run from EU 18 or 19 up to 25 or 27. Two retailer age charts we checked agree at only three points, EU 23 around 2 years, EU 25 around 3, EU 27 around 4, and drift years apart above EU 29. Measure the foot. It beats every age chart.

Do Shoo Pom sandals fit the same as the sneakers and boots?

No. Same EU number, different foot length. At EU 27: Goa sandal 15.7 cm, Kerala Easy sandal 15.9, Bouba 16.0, Tity 16.1, Joggy sneaker 16.6, Yuzu sneaker 16.8, Play boot 17.0. One size step on these charts is usually 0.6 or 0.7 cm, so the gap between a Goa 27 and a Play 27 is wider than a full size. Check the line before you reuse a size.
